As every year, many teams applied in order to get help (material, financial and technical) from the Millet Expedition Project for their expedition project accomplishment. This year, 10 teams were in final for different projects such as canyoning in New Zealand, challenge of the 14 highest summits in the World or the ascent of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park by a handicapped climber woman.

For this Millet Expedition Project Summer session 2012, level was high, projects were interesting and all the candidates were very motivated. The task was hard for the jury to select the best projects. After having hard discussed, the projects that have been awarded for the Millet Expedition Project are the following:

Goal : Open climbing spots in order to learn to young people with multiple difficulties how to concentrate on a project. To bring climbing materials to the first Albanian school.

>EL CAPITAN A BOUT DE BRAS 

Category : mutual help

Place : USA

Date : May 2013

Goal : Climbing of the "Zodiac" route at El Capitan by a handicapped climber accompanied by 3 climbers, only using her arms and fixed rope with ascenders

Special mention for this project which won the public award on Facebook.

Cross-crountry and ski touring training for Vanessa and her team-maids.

>HIMALAYAN PROJECT  2012

Date : 2012

Goal : Within the challenge 14x 8000m: 6 summits in 6 months: Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Gasherbrum 1, Gasherbrum 2, K2, Shishapangma. She achieved the ascent of 4 summits of  more than 8000m in 2011. 

>SPITZBERG 2012

Date : June 2012

Goal : Yann would like to explore by kayak 500 km on the NW coast of the island of Spitzberg and cross the 80th parallel. Observe the collapse of the polar bear and analyze the deterioration of their habitat.

Date : October-novembrer 2012

Goal : Opening of the south east face of Cerro Murallón, Argentina. 70 kms by skis and pulkas to reach the wall .

>MONT MC KINLEY

Place : USA

Date : December 2012

Goal : Realize the first McKinley (Denali 6194 m) women winter ascent, highest point in North America. Last attempt for this mountain couple. They will have to deal with extrem temperatures and violent winds.
