Jérémy Janody crossing the Aravis Massif

Jérémy Janody, Millet Team athlete, tells us his Aravis Massif crossing where he went through the most beautiful combes such as : the Combe de Bellachat, the Combe de Grand Crêt or the Combe de Paccaly. A total of 2100m vertical skiing against 600m of vertical ascent.

Traversée Free Rando de la Combe de Balme au Trou de la Mouche- 2467m – Massif des Aravis

“It snowed a little bit in the Aravis Massif this week and only the real passionated are still motivated to ski on April snow. This horizontal traverse enables us to use ski lifts of La Clusaz Ski Resort and over all to use "free rando" skis (freeride skis with ski touring bindings). The first run in the Combe de Bellachat (Nord-West oriented) is really a big spot. You often have to fight because the virgin snow is rare and there is a lot of freeriders there…

300m down, you just have to go up again on the Combe de Grand Crêt (many different ways)… and again to the Trou de la Mouche, and the Combe de Paccaly. "

                                                                                                                                                                                         Trou de la Mouche

Finally, 600m of vertical ascent against 2100m vertical skiing… of course, any other steeper or more technical ways are possible ! “
