The Blind Trust Project: A blind person at the top of the highest summit in Western Europe

Millet is proud to take part of the Blind Trust Project. This project will enable a blind person to climb a the top of the highest summit of Western Europe : le Mont-Blanc. They will be there between July, 16th and 23th, and will climb via the Grands Mulets Route.

Destination: Haute-Savoie - France

Objective: Ascend Mont Blanc (4810m) - The highest peak in western Europe

How: Via the Grands Mulets Route

When: From 16.7.2012 till 23.7.2012

"We have chosen one of the five classic routes - The Grands Mulets route.

This is perhaps the most famous route, as it was chosen in 1786 by Jacques Balmat and Michel Paccard for the first ascent. Given it's historical signifiance and stunning beauty, this route is ideal for filming. Additonal advantage of this route is that we will avoid large crowds of people, who attempt to reach the summit via Gouter route or Three Monts traverse.

Exact planning will highly depend on overall weather and snow conditions in the area. Daily information from météo Haute-Savoie and Chamonix guides will be used to seek out the most suitable window for our climb.

After thorough acclimatization, we will use the classic route across Bossons Glacier. We will stay overnight at Grands Mulets hut and early morning we will start our ascent to the summit.

We will first head toward south west to get to the Petit Plateau. Then we will cross the Grand Plateau and join the Gouter route.

We are planning a short rest in Abri Vallot, where we will have our breakfast. Then we will continue toward Dromedary until we reach the summit of a highest peak in Western Europe.

Our descent way will follow the same route as our ascent. We might traverse toward Plain de l'Aiguille and stay in Grands Mulets hut again to recharge our batteries.

We will proud to wear/carry Millet products on this special adventure."
