The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix.

Founded in 1821, the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix Mont Blanc is the oldest guide company in the world, and the largest in terms of membership. Every year, more than 220 professional and passionate guides and leaders share their mountain experience with thousands of practitioners.

Since its creation nearly 200 years ago, the Compagnie has consistently been a driving-force for mountaineering and the life of the local community. It endeavours to strike a difficult balance: being modern and cutting-edge while respecting its traditions and history.

La compagnie des guides de Chamonix.

Its two cornerstones are as relevant today as they have always been: work is assigned to members in turn, and an emergency fund provides for members injured in the course of their work.

With Millet, the Chamonix Guides will also become partners in product innovation and development. As the Compagnie’s President, Eric Favret, points out:

Our guides are out on the ground daily, and can test Millet’s equipment in real-life conditions. They are also seasoned professionals, who fully understand mountain constraints and can contribute their know-how to Millet.
